Rafael Benitez reportedly was not informed of the dismissal from his post as coach of Real Madrid, when he heard that Zinedine Zidane was his replacement.

Club president Florentino Perez announced the news at a press conference before the show that Zidane is the new coach of the club.

According to "Marca", Benitez was invited to participate at the Bernabeu on Monday, but was told that the decision had nothing to do with his future.

This report states that the Spaniard refused to go because to avoid the paparazzi, but later heard that Zidane's family were in the stadium with the understanding that the former France international, would replace him.
